About The Shadow Over Willowtown
Our game is inspired by the works of E. A. Poe, H. P. Lovecraft (duh!) and the cult classic adult horror visual novel Divi Dead.
Our story starts in 1985 (Doc!). The main protagonist is a young man that's starting his life as a student along with his two best friends, at the prestigious Willowtown University situated on the island.
It's also a sort of homecoming for our hero, who left the island as a child with his mother, but doesn't really remember anything from that part of his younger life.
Troubled with his nightmares and finding himself surrounded by sinister forces, what will happen to him and his friends all depends on your choices.
About VNCraft
We're a game-developing team of two, DeVNCraft (programmer) and LoVNCraft (story and visuals) with no prior experience in creating visual novels, but with love and passion for gaming all our lives. as well as other experience in our particular area's of this project for almost as long.
Our games will be story-rich adult games with horror, mystery, thriller and SF elements, and of course the reason you're all on this page, adult content as well.
The story will take precedence, but we promise plenty of content to those of you that are here for it, the plan is just to find the right balance at the right time so it's not purely a long adult video...the internet has plenty of that already, and either of us will be more than happy to point you in the direction of some good ones--if only to get you degenerates off of our page (I'm kidding, I'm kidding...or am I?)

Releases
The game is divided into Episodes with 3 to 4 Chapters per Episode. Judging by the current speed each chapter should take roughly a month give or take, but we're not making any promises. The game will be free here on itch.io one Episode prior to the current release (I.E. When Episode 2 is released, Episode 1 will become free).
Per-Chapter Releases and Bonus Content will only be available to Patreon, Boosty, and SUBSCRIBESTAR members, the same download links provided for free followers on those sites will be available here, bonus content will be disabled in all free versions, but will only consist of non-cannon material with absolutely no relevance to the main story...you will be able to enjoy the entire story for free with nothing of import hidden behind a paywall. You've been warned, people asking for access to this content or complaining that it should be included will be politely pointed toward this page for a reminder, but arguments and requests for this content beyond that will be ignored...we can't charge some people and not others, which is why we made this version entirely free, although any donations are appreciated.

The Linux version runs perfectly. I hope in the future that the princess will not be in another castle. I'm truly curious on how the story further develops. The huge amount of images in the VN, choices, and full motion 3D animation I came across reminds me of 90s adventure games ...

Minor nitpicks:
- Monster looks like Tingle (maybe that's intentional)
- Some shaders/materials look off (skin, alley floor, boat deck)
- Missing GI/AO? and/or shadows misaligned with models?
- Some clipping (socks clipping out of shoes on Anya, Korean girl's hair was overimposed on the cat on a scene?)
- UI needs work but is serviceable; Gothic font is unreadable sometimes.
- Ambient sound needs to default to 60-80%

I thought I did set the volume (aside from music) to default at 60% before release 🤔
I'm going to take a guess that your playing on mobile if the font was an issue...its been driving me nuts since the first build 😅
I think it defaulted to 40%.
I played on the PC.
It's possible the volume was defaulted at 40% since it was originally....in any case its already been changed for future releases.
But you had troubler reading the font on PC?
Can I ask where it became problematic, since you can change the dialogue font I have to assume it was the preference screen...but I'm running it on my PC at 4K with and without HDR enabled....and frankly I don't have the best vision for small text--I don't have any issues.

Just to clarify ahead of time, I fixed the title screen text, but only because I have a few good friends in a gaming community from both russia and ukraine (and the font didnt work for the actual characters lol), I personally don't speak or understand more than a few words or the game would be in russian as well already (pon I do 'understand' ), actually they were more supportive than most.
I won't get into the political aspect here except to say I don't believe your average person has or wants anything to do with it, and I don't believe it should have any place in the video game world at all.
I just wanted to keep it real and let you know if you start speaking in another language I won't understand you without translating it...and I want nothing to do with the politics in either direction.
My stance is for the gamers, all of the gamers.
With that out of the way (for anyone), the next update will likely be just code fixes I figure within the week, unless I get more suggestions before then, we're trying to get the next story update released by mid February and the fixes will definitely be done by then if not sooner.

Harem (sort of). No NTR or any of those other tags you mentioned.
