Good news for itch members.

We have been mulling over how to keep our subscription site benefits realistic and within the guidelines while shortening the timeframe for free members, which includes our itch.io users, and we've come to the decision that instead of releasing only Episodes one full version prior to the current subscriber version we are going to release Chapters in the same fashion, so when we we release Episode 3 Chapter 1 for paid members we will release Episode 2 Chapter 1 for free, when we release Episode 3 Chapter 2 as paid, we will release Episode 2 Chapter 2 for free, and so on and so on.

This means that not only is the next free release about 3 1/2 months away now instead of 5+, but after that there should be a  monthly release again (give or take depending), although still one Full Episode behind the subscription sites.

This is a bit more work for us, but the truth is we made this game to be played, not to get paid, even if we are hoping to make enough income to take it up full time (I mean who wants to work two jobs? lol), it will never be as important as the game being enjoyed and available to as many fans as we can reach and we know a big portion of those people are here on itch.

The code was already designed to remove certain assets in free versions such as bonus content and the very next Chapter while it was being worked on by Lov even before we released the current one (sorry fellas, finding the bonus code won't help but at least I saved you the search lol --Dev)...so we're going to add onto that base code to remove one full prior Episode worth of content automatically based on the current Chapter to ease the process instead of keeping multiple versions of the game code handy--meaning the code aspect will always be the current version and only the point that the story end's will differ between versions, this will avoid us releasing older versions with fixed bugs and typo's.

We honestly weren't as prepared as we thought to setup all these little details and different versions when we released the game, since our sole thought process was to see if people were going to enjoy the game and there was a possibility that we could make it a full time job...but we're almost a half a year into it now and it's clear that we wouldn't stop even if we can't afford to make a living off of it so we're trying to get all our pixies in a row sooner rather than later and this is how we decided we were going to handle free releases.

I said I wouldn't blow up your news feeds...but I felt this was important enough to drop another devlog, hopefully it's good news to our itch members and you can forgive us  for giving you more consistent releases.

Till next time my friends.
